استخدام Technical Team Leader

Position Summary

As part of Freight-Hall team, you will be a member of a technology startup that develops software as a service (SaaS) solution for the parties that are involved in international freight and trade business all over the world. Our IoE solution is supporting customers with a web-based neutral communication platform which is designed for operating an efficient business process as well as transparent freight procedure.

The Development Lead role is in the Solution Delivery pillar. The main function of this pillar is to develop, test and deliver solutions created to support the technical side of Freight-Hall IOE supply chain solution.

The Development Lead is responsible for managing the technical deliverables to agreed budgets and timelines, utilizing the appropriate methodologies and standards. This includes management of technical tasks within a product map and coordination with Product Owner, Project Manager and assigned staff.

Job Summary

We are looking for one who: 

  • Hire, inspire and grow talented Backend and Front-End Engineers. Build a strong engineering team that prides itself on pragmatism, autonomy and customer focus
  • Influence product strategy and drive the product development roadmap. Set the standard for technical excellence. Expected to be full hands-on
  • Monitors adherence to development methodologies, tools, key performance indicators (KPIs); Increases software component reuse; Consolidates platforms, environments, products with the goal of reducing overall operate costs
  • Is responsible for ensuring quality of application engineering deliverables in accordance with project timeline and budget
  • Works with senior management to set overall project priorities, manages software related aspects of projects, assigns development team members, and provides day-to-day technical work direction for a team of highly-capable developers
  • Provides on-going management and development of team members, including coaching on advanced topics in software engineering, new practices and relevant technologies in cooperation with technical mentors
Essential Functions of the Job

  • Creates and maintains application development/engineering resource plan with respect to the practice by creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structure across practice
  • Manages application development/engineering staff assigned resources
  • Provides appropriate development resource estimates (hours) for all applicable phases of planned projects, including change requests
  • Successfully implements agreed scorecard initiatives
  • Maintains adherence to architectural standards/principles in context of Freight-Hall platform architecture, product-specific guidelines, usability design, Security, and performance standards and best practices
  • Helps set the best practice and standards for code progression, code branching, testing and code reviews
  • Responsible for detailed technical design at a solution level
  • Monitors adherence to methodologies, tools and KPIs
  • Develops and delivers other technical solutions as their workload permits
  • Anticipates problems before they occur; defines a problem; identifies possible causes; works with a team to find solution; selects and implements most appropriate solution
  • Provides support and documentation to assist in sustaining the project during the transition to production where necessary
  • Provides feedback regarding application engineering methodologies, standards and leading practices during throughout project life-cycle
Analytical/Decision-making Responsibilities

  • Create a highly scalable solution that allows rapid innovation and experimentation
  • Facilitate communication and decision-making between engineering teams and stakeholders and act as a sparring partner to Product Owners
  • Conduct disciplined risk/benefit analysis and help the team take the right amount of risk and technical debt
Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Good understanding of modern software development practices; including: agile, continuous integration, test/deployment, automation, etc. 
  • Experience in Java, Spring Boot, SQL Databases, No-SQL Databases (especially MongoDB), Docker and one of Front-End technologies like Angular, React, VueJS, or Flutter
  • Experience building scalable software as a service, owning and operating highly available systems 
Supervision Responsibilities

Guide the development and execution of mid- & long-term technical vision and architectural direction. 

Other Requirements

Experience and familiarity with AWS is a plus. 

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience

Experience

Proven track record of at least 2 years in leading an Engineering team to success (experience as Engineering Lead, Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, Engineering Manager or similar) and Several years of experience with software development.
