Description:
We are looking for a Senior UNIX System / DevOps Engineer who can elevate our technology and help us build solid services and better our infrastructure. Our operating system of choice is FreeBSD and therefore deep knowledge of UNIX and BSD family operating systems are pivotal. Understanding agile environments is very important since our company is like an arrow from a bow growing and evolving through the collaborative effort of various teams. Additionally, the candidate should always be up-to-date, considers security, and wants to move on everyday.
Qualifications/Skills:
• 5+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and BSD Operating Systems (specially FreeBSD)
• Deep understanding of networking and TCP/IP stack
• Deep understanding of ZFS and RAID-Z solutions
• Deep understanding of firewall (PF or IPFW)
• Understanding physical servers and network appliances is a plus
• Experience with HAProxy, NGINX and lighttpd is essential
• Strong knowledge of DNS servers (NSD, BIND9, Unbound)
• Experience with DDNS is a key
• Experience with network redundancy protocols
• Being capable of running synchronous replication between separated physical machines
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Relational Databases (Mysql and PostgreSQL)
• API Knowledge and understanding JSON/YAML syntax
• Shell scripting is essential but knowing a programming language would be a plus
• Understanding code is crucial
• Git and SVN knowledge
• Knowledge of sed and awk
• Deep understanding of light weight and full virtual machines and virtualisation solutions (bhyve and jails)
• Understanding Kernel is a great advantage
• Team leadership abilities would be a plus • Fluency in English is essential
