We are embarking on an innovative project to develop a real-time IoT data platform for ingesting Distributed Fiber Optic (DFO) data. This platform will be deployable on major cloud platforms or on-premise. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and managing data pipelines, ensuring the efficient processing and storage of real-time IoT data, and contributing directly to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

What You’ll Do:
- Develop and manage data pipelines for real-time IoT data ingestion and processing using ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, dbt, or Airflow.
- Design and implement data warehousing and/or data lakehouse solutions to store and manage large datasets from distributed fiber optic sensors.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ingestion and processing stages.
- Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven solutions into the platform.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Utilize data modeling techniques to design efficient and scalable data architectures.
- Work with distributed systems to ensure robust and reliable data processing and storage.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data engineering, ETL tools, and IoT technologies.
Requirements:
- Professional proficiency in English is a must.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role.
- Strong skills in Python and SQL for data manipulation and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, dbt, or Airflow.
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques for designing efficient data architectures.
- Experience working with data warehousing and/or data lakehouse solutions.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and real-time data processing platforms.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset and a passion for driving data-driven decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Previous experience in projects involving IoT data ingestion and processing.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as DOMO, Tableau, or Power BI.
