Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot network problems
- Updates data network equipment
- Defines, documents, and enforces system standards
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Collaborates with government organizations and product owners for network optimization
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Requirements and skills:
- Strong documentation skills
- Network Performance Tuning
- Network Hardware Configuration
- Ability to manage firewalls (Cisco, Fortigate,...)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Ability to provide technical training to co-workers
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
- Extensive Routers and Switch experience, specific to Cisco and Nexus hardware
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, Eigrp, QoS)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BSc in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
- Five to 10 years of experience in network administration position
