Job Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for helping businesses leverage data and identifies opportunities for improvement, spot trends, recognize potential issues, and offer effective solutions.

They perform various functions, which primarily involve providing data, reports, and analyses in support of the organization’s plan to help it make smart business decisions.

To provide analytical support, BI analysts are required to comprehend the business processes and information needs and translate them into BI/analytics/reporting requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the business intelligence and analytics team to implement best practices for reporting and visualizations
  • Collaborating with our business stakeholders to understand their challenges, gather reporting requirements, and provide solutions
  • Analyzing processes and recommending changes to the management and executives for improvements
  • Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements, and user manuals for the organization
  • Finding patterns or seeing areas in the data that signal a potential for improvement in business practices
  • Conduct appropriate data validation and quality checks
  • Create dashboards and reports to answer key business questions, define and monitor KPIs and measures, and support organization members in decision-making.
  • Working autonomously to achieve our outcomes and manage the timelines, prioritizing between planned projects and ad-hoc data requests.

Job Requirements

  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving attitude, and data profiling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration with the team, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage time, resources, and deadlines effectively
  • Proven work experience with T-SQL programming
  • Familiarity with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS-SSAS-SSRS)
  • Familiarity with Python programming language (PyData tools such as Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib, etc.)
  • Utilizing data visualization software (Power BI Desktop preferred)
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, data mining, and ML algorithms is a plus
  • Experience in big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) is a plus
  • Prior related experience (e.g., as a business analyst, data analyst) is a plus
  • Familiarity with best practices in business and data analysis such as BABOK or Value management is a plus
