Job Description

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services with focus on Kotlin. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.


Responsibilities

-     Design, build, and maintain high performance and reliable Kotlin code.

-     Create contemporary, and safe Android applications from the ground up with Kotlin.

-     Identify and address bottlenecks and fix bugs.

-     Refactor existing codebases and contribute to the internal documentation.

 

Skills

-     Proficient with Kotlin (and Java.)

-     Strong knowledge of different Android SDKs.

-    Familiarity with different API design models, especially REST based.

-    Experience with JUnit framework and kotlin.test library (and testing methods in general.)

-     Solid understanding of OOP design and architectural principles.

-     Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.

-     Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.

-     Knowledge of the open source Android ecosystem and other common libraries.

-     Familiarity with Firebase, cloud-based message APIs and push notifications.

-     Knack for benchmarking and optimisation.

-    Git (or experience with any other VCS) is a must.

-     Familiarity with Agile development techniques and CI/CD pipeline.
