What You’ll Actually Be Doing

• Designing, building, and maintaining reliable backend systems used in real production environments
• Developing scalable APIs, services, and application logic that support complex business and product requirements
• Taking ownership of backend architecture decisions, from service design to database structure and deployment readiness
• Working closely with frontend, product, infrastructure, and leadership teams to turn requirements into stable, maintainable solutions
• Improving system performance, reliability, security, and scalability as the product and user base grow
• Designing and optimizing databases, queries, data models, and backend workflows
• Building integrations with third-party services, internal tools, payment systems, authentication providers, or external APIs
• Writing clean, well-structured code that other engineers can confidently maintain and extend
• Reviewing code, mentoring other engineers, and raising the overall quality of backend development practices
• Making practical engineering decisions that balance speed, quality, maintainability, and long-term product needs

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with strong ownership of production systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS, Express, Python, Django, FastAPI, Go, Java, Spring Boot, or similar backend technologies
• Deep understanding of API design, RESTful services, GraphQL, service-oriented architecture, and backend system design
• Solid experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transactions
• Experience with NoSQL databases, caching systems, queues, or event-driven architecture such as MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, security best practices, user roles, and secure data handling
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend systems with high availability and real-world traffic
• Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern deployment workflows
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, especially when dealing with performance issues, incidents, or complex production behavior
• Good understanding of testing strategies, code quality, version control, and maintainable software architecture
• Ability to communicate clearly with distributed teams and explain technical decisions in practical business terms
• Comfortable leading backend decisions, reviewing architecture, mentoring teammates, and owning delivery from design to production
