Job description
We are looking for a talented engineer with a very strong JS background to join our backend team. You are responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
Responsibilities
- Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
- Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
- Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Integration of data storage solutions
Skills
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
- In depth knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it, such as Express, Socket.io
- Development experience designing object-oriented JavaScript
- Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques
- Good knowledge of MongoDB database and clustering concepts
- Experience implementing unit/integration/e2e/coverage tests
- Hands on experience with HTML, CSS, and AJAX
- Experience working with in-memory data stores such as Redis or Memcached
- Experience using containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Experience working in an Agile environment
