Job Title: Information Security Engineer

Position Overview The Information Security Engineer is responsible for protecting the organization’s technology assets and data by identifying vulnerabilities, detecting threats, responding to incidents, and strengthening security measures. The role involves daily security operations, collaboration with IT teams, and staying updated on threat intelligence. This position offers opportunities to enhance business continuity and risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Security Operations: Manage vulnerabilities across all tech assets, operate a SIEM solution for threat monitoring, analyze security incidents, enable log aggregation for investigations, and develop response plans for security incidents. 
  • Security Hardening: Guide teams on secure infrastructure building, conduct application security testing, perform penetration tests, and design secure network architecture. 
  • Security Automation: Enhance endpoint protection policies, integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines, develop automated responses to threats, and provide recommendations for security tool procurement. 
  • Awareness Building: Conduct security awareness training, provide guidance on security controls to teams, evaluate projects for security expertise, and maintain knowledge on cyber risks and compliance needs.

Key Qualifications 

  • Experience: Candidates with more than four years of relevant work experience are preferred. Experience with a SIEM is particularly desirable. 
  • Soft Skills: The ideal candidate should demonstrate a capacity for learning, meticulous attention to detail, effective teamwork, and a commitment to task completion. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with network security fundamentals, operating systems hardening, vulnerability assessment tools, SIEM solutions, Infrastructure as Code security concepts, secure coding practices, cloud security best practices, scripting skills, risk analysis methods, regulatory compliance, policy and standards development abilities, business impact analysis techniques, Privacy by Design and Security by Design concepts, and proficiency in using Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), Web Application Scanners (DAST), Static Application Scanners (SAST), Anti-malware and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), and Identity & Access Management (IAM). 
  • Educational Qualification: At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
