About the role:

As a Front End Developer, your main job is to build and maintain WordPress websites, with a particular emphasis on utilizing Gutenberg. You'll be responsible for translating designs from tools like Figma into functional website code. Your goal is to ensure that users can easily interact with the site, addressing any issues along the way to ensure smooth functionality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to define and refine website designs and functionalities.
  • Write website code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Producing, maintaining, and modifying websites and user interfaces
  • Incorporation of applications, graphics, audio, and video clips into client websites or web applications.
  • Ensure the enhancement of user experience through the creation of custom tools and features.
  • Ensure the cross-device compatibility and implementation of responsive design.
  • Conduct regular website testing to evaluate usability, speed, and quality.
  • Resolve any website issues or bugs that arise.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Front End Developer, with a strong focus on WordPress development. Knowledge of Gutenberg is a significant advantage.
  • Having proficiency in WordPress templates, particularly Full Site Editing, and familiarity with Gutenberg are significant advantages.
  • Ability to write clean, effective, and production-ready code.
  • Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS/Sass.
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
  • Experience with front-end automation tooling (Gulp, npm, Sass).
  • Strong ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • An in-depth understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Fluency in Git (we use Github) and terminal-based operations.
  • Understanding of key website design principles and SEO optimization.
  • Ability to test and debug websites.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with React.
  • Expertise with performance and optimization problems.
  • Solid understanding of PHP and developing WordPress plugins
  • Experience writing automated tests (e.g., Jest, Karma, Mocha, etc.).
  • Fluency in English (as a second language)
