About Melli Gold:
Melli Gold is a fintech startup operating at the intersection of the gold market and financial technology. We design and develop an intelligent and secure infrastructure for sourcing, trading, and managing gold flows in Iran

Role Overview:
Melli Gold is looking for a highly analytical and business-oriented Strategy Manager to support the company’s strategic decision-making and growth agenda.
The role will have a strong focus on competitive intelligence, market benchmarking, industry analysis, and strategic performance assessment. The Strategy Manager will continuously monitor the competitive landscape, identify market trends and emerging opportunities, benchmark Melli Gold against leading local and international players, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior management.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial judgment and is comfortable working with both quantitative data and qualitative market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis
Continuously monitor competitors, emerging players, and relevant market developments.
Build and maintain a structured competitive intelligence framework covering competitors’ products, pricing, customer propositions, channels, marketing activities, partnerships, operating models, and strategic initiatives.
Analyze competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, positioning, and sources of competitive advantage.
Identify changes in the competitive landscape and assess their potential impact on Melli Gold.
Track relevant macroeconomic, consumer, technology, and regulatory trends affecting the market.

Benchmarking:

Conduct systematic benchmarking of Melli Gold against leading local, regional, and global companies.
Define relevant benchmarks across areas such as customer experience, product offering, pricing, growth, digital capabilities, operational efficiency, marketing, and financial performance.
Identify performance gaps and best practices and translate them into actionable improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain benchmark databases and recurring industry scorecards.

Strategic Analysis & Insights:

Conduct deep-dive analyses on strategic topics requested by senior management.
Assess new business opportunities, market segments, products, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
Develop business cases and financial or commercial analyses to support strategic decisions.
Synthesize complex data from multiple sources into clear insights, implications, and recommendations.
Challenge assumptions and provide fact-based perspectives on major strategic decisions.

Strategy Development & Performance Tracking:

Support the development and refinement of Melli Gold’s corporate and business strategy.
Translate market and competitive insights into strategic priorities and initiatives.
Support annual and quarterly strategy and business planning processes.
Monitor key strategic initiatives and evaluate progress against defined objectives.
Develop management dashboards and executive-level reports on market dynamics, competitive position, and strategic performance.

Executive Communication:

Prepare high-quality presentations, strategy papers, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
Clearly communicate key findings, strategic implications, risks, and recommendations.
Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Commercial, Operations, Finance, Data, and other teams to collect insights and drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant Master’s degree is a plus.
4–7 years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, business analysis, competitive intelligence, or a similar role.
Strong experience in competitive analysis, market research, and benchmarking.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous business problems.
Strong quantitative skills and ability to work with large datasets and business KPIs.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI and analytics tools is a plus.
Strong business acumen and understanding of business models, unit economics, and financial concepts.
Ability to convert analysis into clear and actionable strategic recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional working proficiency in English, particularly for research and analysis of international markets and competitors.
