About the Role

As a Technical Director, you will report directly to the CTO and play a critical role in shaping the technical roadmap of MelliGold.
You will lead architectural decisions, guide engineering best practices, and ensure our platform remains high-performing, secure, and scalable as we expand.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the technical strategy and guide long-term architectural decisions across the engineering organization.
Oversee the design of scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems, including microservices and distributed architectures.
Establish coding standards, review processes, and best development practices across all backend and frontend teams.
Ensure platform-wide adherence to best practices in application security, data protection, and compliance—especially in financial environments.
Work closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and data teams to align technical plans with business goals.
Improve system observability, performance, and reliability while supporting incident response and root cause analysis.
Mentor engineering leads and senior developers, supporting career growth and strong technical culture.
Guide improvements in development workflows, deployment pipelines and release processes.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or architectural role
Strong expertise in Python, Django, distributed systems, and modern software architecture
Experience scaling high-traffic or financial platforms
Deep understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, RabbitMQ, and asynchronous or event-driven design
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure
Strong knowledge of security best practices and system reliability
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of influencing engineering strategy

Nice to Have

Experience in fintech, trading systems, or other regulated industries
Familiarity with SRE concepts, observability stacks, or advanced DevOps workflows
Experience growing or managing multiple engineering teams.
