Job Summary: As a Specialist Accountant for a fintech company, you will be responsible for managing financial processes, reporting, and analysis related to the company's operations. You will work closely with the finance team, operations team, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial record- keeping, compliance with financial regulations, and timely reporting. You will also provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable general ledger, and financial reconciliations.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintain proper documentation.
Prepare financial reports, such as monthly financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings, and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and explanations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations team, sales team, and other departments, to ensure financial information is accurately captured and reported.
Monitor and maintain compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures.
Assist with financial audits and provide support for audit requests.
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Stay updated with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and ensure the company's financial practices are aligned with best practices and compliance requirements.
Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a fintech or financial services industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software, financial systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
Strong ethics and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
Knowledge of fintech industry trends, products, and services is a plus.
