We are looking for a Senior Business Development Specialist to help us identify, evaluate, and launch new business lines and market opportunities. This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys building from zero-to-one, testing new ideas, and turning early-stage concepts into scalable revenue streams.
You'll work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager and cross-functional teams to explore adjacent verticals, new revenue models, and strategic growth areas for the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify new business lines, verticals, or revenue streams that align with the marketplace's growth strategy
- Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and feasibility studies for potential new initiatives
- Build business cases, financial models, and go-to-market plans for new opportunities
- Run pilot programs and small-scale tests to validate new business ideas before scaling
- Identify and engage potential partners, suppliers, or sellers relevant to new business lines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new initiatives from concept to launch
- Track and report on the performance of newly launched initiatives, iterating based on data and feedback
- Prepare presentations and recommendations for managers on new business opportunities
- Stay current on e-commerce and marketplace industry trends to proactively surface new opportunities
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting, or a related field (e-commerce/marketplace experience strongly preferred)
- Proven experience researching, evaluating, or launching new business initiatives
- Strong analytical skills, including comfort building financial/business models
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-starter mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
