About The Role


SnappFood is seeking a DevOps Teach Lead to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of technical activities, including leading and coordinating DevOps-related initiatives and tasks, providing hands-on technical leadership, maintaining the strategic DevOps roadmap, participating in system architecture meetings, and supporting the implementation of infrastructure compliance and security standards.

The DevOps Technical Lead will play a key role in the growth and development of team members, requiring strong technical expertise combined with leadership and mentoring capabilities. The ideal candidate will be someone who can inspire and guide engineers while driving operational excellence.

The DevOps team at SnappFood includes members working on process automation, CI/CD pipeline development, application deployment and configuration management. The Tech Lead will collaborate closely with team members across all areas to help build and maintain a scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure that supports rapid software delivery and innovation.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native microservices architecture
  • Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
  • Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
  • Have on call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team
  • Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms
  • Help increase system performance with a focus on high availability and scalability
  • Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Continue to keep the lights on (day-to-day administration)

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale
  • A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python,  etc.)
  • Practical experience with Docker containerization and clustering (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Git and the Gitflow development workflow
  • Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Argo,Gitlab, Jenkins)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code
  • Experience in managing on-premise infrastructure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Collaborative team spirit
 

Nice To Have:


  • Experience building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with alerting, observability, and telemetry tools (we use Prometheus and Grafana, Thanos).
  • Hands-on experience with API Gateway technologies such as Envoy, Kong, or similar.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, integrating security into the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Practical knowledge of service proxies and service mesh architectures.
  • Experience with Cloud Native Storage solutions (e.g., Ceph, Longhorn, OpenEBS, or cloud provider-native options).
