About the Team

Data center team is committed to providing an up to date technology infrastructure that is resilient and delivers the performance necessary to meet the demands of a growing Snapp.

We are responsible to ensure all servers and services are secure, operational, and highly available. We identify failures and problems in the network, servers, firewalls, etc. because data centers run 24 hours per day, we may need to work evenings and weekends. We may also need to be on call to work when technical problems occur.

 

About the Role

As a Senior Network Security Engineer in Snapp, you will be working on making network establishes, manages and administers the security policy and procedures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place, and minimize the risk of internal and external security threats, Taking care of backups, Auditing High Availability, Monitoring security events and logs 

 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively utilize moderate to complex lab setups to recreate and solve problems
  • Handle routine technical support problems—from simple application or network configuration fixes to more complex troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Performing the operational establishment and preventive maintenance of backups, recovery procedures, and enforcing security and integrity controls 
  • Accepting responsibility for the processes, procedures and operational management associated with network security and disaster recovery planning  
  • Liaising with security vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation, policies and instructions, and recording and detailing operational procedures and Network/Security logs 
  • Continually surveying the current datacenter to determine future network needs and making recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future servers and networks
  • Design network security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
 

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Information Security Networking, Engineering and Architecture roles
  • Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience configuring Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW’s)
  • Hands-on experience with and knowledge of IT security architecture and design (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS systems, VPNs)
  • Hands-on experience with SSL VPN and remote access technologies
  • Full understanding of IP network and security engineering
  • Full understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
  • Review system configurations and advise on security best practices
  • Support the creation and maintenance of security policies and procedures
  • Test and implement network security measures and maintain the overall security coverage
  • Ability to build consensus and cooperation as well as to influence, interact and negotiate with senior leadership in the organization
  • Ability to diagram network topologies
 

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

  • Familiarity with Linux security administration
  • Familiarity with shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Python, terraform and ansible
