About the Role:

Own and elevate data-driven decision making for the Shopping vertical by deeply analyzing customer behavior, experimentation results, and marketplace performance. This role ensures that product discovery surfaces the most relevant goods to each customer, maximizes conversion, and continuously improves through rigorous experimentation and insights.

Responsibilities:

Experimentation & A/B Testing

  • Own end-to-end analysis of A/B and multivariate tests related to discovery, ranking, and merchandising.
  • Define success metrics, guardrails, and statistical methodologies before experiments launch.
  • Analyze test results, identify causal impact, and clearly communicate trade-offs.
  • Provide clear recommendations (ship, iterate, rollback) based on data, not just significance.
  • Ensure experiment learnings are documented and reusable across teams.
Discovery & Customer Behavior Analysis

  • Analyze how users discover products across search, category, recommendations, and promotions.
  • Identify behavioral patterns, drop-offs, and opportunity areas across the funnel.
  • Segment users (intent, frequency, price sensitivity, lifecycle) to support personalized discovery.
  • Translate complex behavioral data into actionable insights for product, design, and engineering.
Metrics Ownership & Insight Generation

  • Define, track, and evolve core discovery KPIs (e.g., CTR, conversion, add-to-cart, GMV uplift, relevance).
  • Build and maintain dashboards for ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Proactively surface insights, anomalies, and trends, not just respond to requests.
  • Act as the single source of truth for discovery-related metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and UX.
  • Influence product decisions by framing problems with data and evidence.
  • Support roadmap prioritization with quantitative insights.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and experimentation outcomes.
Data Quality & Analytics Excellence

  • Ensure correctness and consistency of tracking, event definitions, and experiment data.
  • Work with engineering to improve logging and data reliability.
  • Promote best practices in statistical rigor, experimentation design, and analytics storytelling.
Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in e-commerce, marketplaces, or consumer products.
  • Strong expertise in A/B testing, experimentation design, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience analyzing large-scale behavioral datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools and notebooks (e.g., Jupyter).
  • Solid understanding of product metrics, funnels, and user behavior.
  • Practical experience working with AI-powered products (e.g., search, ranking, recommendations).
  • Working knowledge of ML/AI concepts and close collaboration with data science or AI engineering teams.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools and LLMs for analysis, insight generation, or workflow automation.
  • Strong product and business mindset, able to translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
