We're building a distributed cloud infrastructure platform in Python and are looking for an engineer who ships real features using AI coding agents as a core part of their workflow.

About the role
You'll work on a horizontally-scaled API service that manages cloud server provisioning workflows — multi-instance deployments, partitioned PostgreSQL databases, async task engines, and integrations with cloud providers. The stack is Python (FastAPI/SQLAlchemy), PostgreSQL, and Podman/Caddy.

This is not a role where you write every line from scratch. You'll spend most of your time specifying, reviewing, and integrating AI-generated code — and you'll be expected to catch what the agents get wrong.

What you'll do

Design and implement backend features for a distributed infrastructure API
Author and review AI-generated code using tools like Copilot, Claude, and opencode
Maintain and extend provisioning workflows (create, update, delete) for cloud resources
Design and implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to expose platform capabilities to AI agents
Contribute to database schema design, partitioning strategy, and query correctness
Harden and operate the service in Linux server environments

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on Python coding and debugging
Comfort with async Python, PostgreSQL, and REST API design
Solid grasp of distributed systems fundamentals: consistency, partitioning, idempotency
Working knowledge of Linux networking (interfaces, routing, firewalls, DNS)
Solid understanding of Linux server security (hardening, access control, secrets management)
Ability to guide AI agents with accurate context and critically review their output — catching logic errors, missed edge cases, and security issues
Comfortable aligning working hours with European time zones
Able to take periodic on-call / support standby rotation

Nice to have

Experience with cloud provider APIs (OVH, Hetzner, DigitalOcean)
Familiarity with database sharding and multi-instance deployments
Background in provisioning workflows or infrastructure automation
KVM/QEMU experience
Working knowledge of Ansible
Go programming
