This position applies their expertise and technical skills in creating database structures, tuning the database and developing the database stored procedures for applications. This position is within the software development team and requires development of application business logic within stored procedures. The SQL Server database developer will develop and maintain SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS) packages / Jobs. Work is performed in an Agile environment and creativity is encouraged.
Essential Job Functions:
Writes, Tests and Tunes complex stored procedures. (55%)
Create tables, indexes and other database objects (25%)
Investigates and identifies corrective solutions to production problems / issues. (10%)
Consults with IT teams on software/hardware justifications. (10%)
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of Windows server.
Knowledge of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses.
Skill in writing Stored Procedures, T-SQL and query tuning on high transaction systems.
Ability to maintain database indexes, columns and tables using DDL, DML and DCL constructs.
Ability to use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL (Extract-Transform-Load).
Ability to use data access drivers and JDBC/ODBC configuration.
Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely tracking of time spent working on projects as well the ability to accurately estimated changes or enhancements.
Ability to use MS Word and MS Excel.
