ithome.ir is a large-scale e-commerce platform focused on selling technology and consumer goods. The current platform is built on WordPress and WooCommerce with many custom business workflows, integrations, performance requirements, and operational tools.

We are looking for a Senior WordPress / WooCommerce Developer who can work on a real production e-commerce system, not just simple WordPress websites. The role requires deep technical understanding of WooCommerce, WordPress internals, database optimization, custom plugin development, API integrations, and performance debugging.

Role Overview

As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and extending our current WooCommerce platform. You will work on custom features, admin tools, performance optimization, security, integrations, and technical refactoring.

This role is suitable for someone who has hands-on experience with large WooCommerce websites, understands how WordPress works internally, and can solve complex production issues independently.

Main Responsibilities

Develop and maintain custom WordPress and WooCommerce plugins.
Build custom WooCommerce features, workflows, admin panels, and operational tools.
Debug and optimize slow queries, heavy admin pages, WooCommerce actions, cron jobs, and background processes.
Work with WooCommerce orders, products, users, metadata, taxonomies, coupons, payments, shipping, and reports.
Integrate WordPress/WooCommerce with external APIs and internal systems.
Improve website performance, database structure, caching, and scalability.
Review and refactor existing code to make it cleaner, safer, and more maintainable.
Fix production bugs carefully without breaking business-critical flows.
Work with Git-based development workflow.
Coordinate with frontend, backend, product, and operations teams.
Write clean, secure, and maintainable PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with WordPress development.
Strong experience with WooCommerce development.
Advanced PHP development skills.
Strong knowledge of WordPress hooks, filters, actions, shortcodes, custom post types, taxonomies, user roles, and capabilities.
Experience developing custom WordPress plugins from scratch.
Experience working with WooCommerce internals, including orders, products, checkout, cart, pricing, coupons, shipping, and payment flows.
Good understanding of MySQL/MariaDB and WordPress database structure.
Ability to write optimized SQL queries using $wpdb.
Experience debugging slow queries, high CPU usage, memory issues, cron problems, and WooCommerce Action Scheduler problems.
Good knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, REST API, HTML, and CSS.
Experience with WordPress REST API and custom API endpoints.
Good understanding of security best practices, including nonce validation, sanitization, escaping, permission checks, and SQL injection prevention.
Experience with Git.

Important Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be prioritized:

Large WooCommerce stores with many products, orders, users, and custom workflows.
Custom admin dashboards or operational panels.
WooCommerce performance optimization.
Database indexing and query optimization.
Payment gateway integrations.
Shipping/logistics integrations.
ERP, CRM, accounting, inventory, or warehouse integrations.
Custom product pricing, seller/vendor workflows, or marketplace systems.
WordPress multisite or high-traffic WordPress environments.
Debugging production issues on Linux/cPanel/WHM servers.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with React or modern frontend frameworks.
Experience with headless WordPress or WooCommerce APIs.
Experience with Redis, object cache, page cache, CDN, LiteSpeed, or WP Rocket.
Experience with Docker or local development environments.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with server-level debugging on Linux.
Familiarity with marketplace architecture, vendor panels, inventory systems, and large-scale e-commerce operations.
Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or advanced product search.
Experience with analytics, reporting, and custom data dashboards.
