شرح موقعیت شغلی

Position type
This is a full-time paid research assistant position.
The working hours are 9 hours per day, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The first month will be a training period. During the training month, the assistant will be paid one-third of the regular monthly salary. After the training period, if the collaboration continues, the assistant will be paid the full agreed monthly salary.
Compensation
The salary will be paid monthly.
Monthly compensation will be between 30-35 Million, depending on the candidate's background, experience, technical ability, and performance during the training period.
Required background
The ideal candidate should be a PhD student, PhD graduate, or advanced researcher in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, evolutionary biology, computational phylogenetics, or a closely related field.
Students or graduates from strong universities, especially Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran University of Science and Technology, or similar strong universities, are especially encouraged to apply.
Direct experience in phylogenetics is preferred but not required. A bioinformatics background, Python programming ability, and the ability to read phylogenetic papers are sufficient. Training will be provided during the first month.

Duties

1. Meet daily with the project lead to understand new research ideas, algorithms, and experimental plans.

2. Give a daily report explaining what was done during the day, what problems were found, and what should be done the next day.

3. Convert project discussions into clear internal technical notes, including algorithm descriptions, assumptions, pseudocode, expected inputs and outputs, experimental design, and possible failure cases.

4. Use the provided ChatGPT account, when appropriate, to help organize explanations, clarify algorithms, prepare internal reports, and discuss implementation details.

5. Assist with Python implementation, debugging, refactoring, and reproducibility checks.

6. Review code written by the project lead or generated using coding assistants such as Codex.

7. Double-check that the implementation matches the intended algorithm.

8. Run experiments according to the instructions of the project lead.

9. Prepare plots, tables, summaries, and visualizations for experimental results.

10. Validate outputs by checking edge cases, running small examples, comparing expected and observed behavior, and documenting bugs.

11. Maintain organized records of experiments, parameters, scripts, outputs, and plots.

12. Keep all project data, code, documents, figures, methods, reports, and results confidential.

13. Avoid using project data, code, results, algorithms, or ideas for any outside work, publication, thesis, conference presentation, preprint, GitHub repository, personal project, or collaboration without written permission.

Required skills

· Python programming ability.

· Background in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, evolutionary biology, computational phylogenetics, or a closely related field.

· Ability to read and understand bioinformatics and phylogenetics papers.

· Ability to understand algorithmic descriptions and convert them into implementation steps.

· Ability to debug code carefully.

· Ability to check whether code correctly implements the intended method.

· Ability to generate clear plots, tables, and result summaries.

· Ability to work carefully with confidential research materials.

· Attention to detail and reproducibility.
