About the Role

At Miare, we are looking for an Android Developer who is passionate about building robust, scalable, and high-performance mobile applications. In this role, you will actively contribute to developing and evolving a real-time product used by a large user base, with impact on architecture, code quality, and long-term sustainability. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver reliable, well-structured solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable Android features from concept to release.
Build clean, modular, and maintainable code aligned with modern Android best practices.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver reliable solutions.
Continuously refactor and improve the codebase to enhance performance, readability, and maintainability.
Write unit tests and contribute to maintaining high test coverage.
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure engineering excellence.
Identify technical risks early and propose practical, well-structured solutions.

Task Complexity:

This role requires hands-on ownership of Android feature delivery while maintaining strong engineering standards. You will balance delivery speed with architectural quality, proactively manage technical risks, and contribute to long-term maintainability in a real-time product environment with a large user base.

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development.
Good knowledge of Jetpack Compose for building declarative UIs.
Strong understanding of Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous and reactive programming.
Solid understanding of Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
Familiarity with SOLID principles and common design patterns.
Experience writing unit tests and understanding testable architecture.
Experience working with Git and collaborative workflows.
Awareness of Android device and OS fragmentation challenges.
Familiarity with common Android libraries such as Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, and Room (or similar alternatives).

Skills:

Scalable Android feature development (end-to-end delivery).
Writing clean, modular, maintainable Kotlin code.
Refactoring for performance and maintainability.
Unit testing and testable architecture mindset.
Collaboration with product, design, and backend teams.
Technical communication through code reviews and design discussions.
Risk identification and structured problem-solving.

Preferred Skills

Experience implementing map and location-based features.
Experience working with device sensors.
Experience writing UI tests (Espresso or Compose UI tests).

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical fields.
