As a Legal Expert at Jibit, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fintech operations are legally compliant and strategically sound. You will work in close collaboration with various teams to provide expert legal guidance and support. Key responsibilities include:
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and ensure that our operations comply with all legal requirements. Offer strategic counsel to minimize legal risks.
- Contract Review: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company's interests and assets.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess legal risks and propose proactive solutions. Work closely with senior management to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Licensing and Permits: Manage licensing, permits, and regulatory filings to guarantee full compliance with local and national financial regulations.
- Data Privacy: Oversee data privacy and security compliance, ensuring the protection of customer data and adherence to data protection laws.
- Litigation Support: Collaborate with external counsel when necessary, and manage legal disputes, claims, and litigation effectively.
- Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining corporate governance standards and ethics, including board meetings and company bylaws.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including finance, compliance, technology, and operations to provide legal expertise and address challenges promptly.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of legal experience in fintech or financial services.
- Strong understanding of fintech regulations and financial laws.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- License to practice law and additional certifications are a plus.
