Senior Frontend Developer (React / JavaScript) — Airline Booking Platform
About the Role
We are building a next-generation airline digital platform from the ground up — a full-scale booking and customer engagement ecosystem covering everything from ticket search and purchase to loyalty programs and B2B agency operations. This is a high-ownership role: you'll have real influence over how the frontend is architected and built, working on a complex, multi-panel platform designed to serve high traffic and multiple user types, including passengers, travel agency partners, and internal teams.
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Developer who is comfortable taking full ownership of the client-side architecture, making sound technical decisions independently, and building interfaces that stay fast and reliable as usage grows — without needing heavy oversight to move forward.
What You'll Be Building
You'll work on the frontend powering our airline's online booking platform: the passenger-facing ticket search and purchase flow, seat selection and ancillary services, a B2B portal for travel agency partners, and an internal admin system with role-based views for different business functions. The work spans real-time pricing displays, multi-step booking flows, and building interfaces that stay smooth and responsive under real user load.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and well-tested user interfaces using React.
Architect frontend systems (component structure, state management, routing) that support independent development and future extensibility.
Translate complex, multi-step flows (search, booking, payment, seat selection) into clean, intuitive user experiences.
Build and maintain a shared, reusable component library/design system.
Integrate with backend APIs and handle real-world edge cases (loading states, errors, retries, real-time updates).
Ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-browser/cross-device compatibility.
Collaborate closely with the rest of the team to deliver end-to-end features.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
Contribute to technical decision-making regarding architecture, tooling, and best practices.
Requirements
4+ years of professional experience as a Frontend Developer.
Strong hands-on experience with React and its ecosystem.
Solid understanding of JavaScript (and ideally TypeScript) and modern frontend engineering practices.
Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, React Query, or similar).
Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive/adaptive design.
Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs.
Practical experience with performance optimization for high-traffic, user-facing applications (bundle size, lazy loading, rendering performance).
Familiarity with modern build tools and workflows (Vite, Webpack, or similar).
Understanding of testing practices for frontend code (unit and integration testing).
Understanding of Git and modern version control workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving product environment.
Nice to Have
Prior experience in the airline, travel, or OTA industry (booking flows, fare/seat selection UIs) is a plus.
Experience with real-time UI updates (WebSockets) and complex multi-step form flows.
Experience building or maintaining a design system / component library.
