About Avicenna

Avicenna is an innovative end-to-end research platform that enables researchers to use smartphones and wearable devices in their research. We are at the forefront of merging technology with research, and we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position and requires full-time commitment. If you are looking for part-time work, this role will not suit you; please do not apply.

We're looking for a genuinely technical Product Owner who can turn messy real-world needs into a sharp, prioritized backlog, while remaining completely comfortable with the codebase.

Technical Requirements

Ability to read and understand code with confidence; this is essential, not optional.
Ability to review code and pull/merge requests (if necessary), and judge whether an implementation matches the requirements and acceptance criteria.
Practical, hands-on knowledge of Agile (Scrum, Kanban), from real work experience, not just a course or certification.
Minimum of 3 years of previous experience as a Product Owner who has effectively done this job: gathering requirements, writing user stories, scoping, and prioritizing.
Able to write and read technical and business documents in English comfortably.

Soft Skill Requirements

Self-disciplined, autonomous, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Highly organized, responsible, and results-oriented, with strong planning and time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts, plans, and technical concepts clearly in both verbal and written English.
Detail-oriented, paying very close attention to requirements and instructions.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
