What do we expect from you in this role?

As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you are expected to confidently ship moderately sized features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Besides, you will help to define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and proper practices for a high-scale web environment. Meanwhile, it is expected to maintain and advocate for these standards in the face of ambiguous problems.

We have collaborative and supportive engineering teams, and we expect you to play the mentor’s role for your less-experienced peers and participate in design and code reviews. Moreover, you will collaborate closely with other teams to clarify requirements. We are looking for someone eager to improve engineering processes and tools to improve speed and productivity.

Basic Qualifications:

Proven experience of professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern and maintainable programming language such as Go, Java, C#, or equivalent programming language
2+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design of a system
Good problem solving and analytical abilities
High sense of ownership and self-motivation

Preferred Qualifications:

Relative experience in the transportation domain
Ability to tackle complexity and resolve ambiguity
Experience developing high available software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
Knowledge of software development methodologies
Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to develop all aspects of their engineering skillsets
