As a Senior PHP Developer (with a transition path to Java), you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing our core services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products in an Agile, CI/CD-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new services based on product requirements, while maintaining and optimizing existing services over time.
  • Work in an Agile Scrum team using CI/CD practices to deliver high-quality products at speed.
  • Apply analytical thinking and creativity to improve system performance and enhance customer experience.
  • Contribute to testing (TDD where applicable), documentation, and code quality as an active Scrum team member.
  • Collaborate constructively with cross-functional teams and stay committed to both personal and team growth.
  • Gradually transition from PHP-focused development to contributing to Java-based services within 6 months.
Required Qualifications

  • Interest or initial experience in Java, with a clear motivation to transition into a Java-focused role.
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and related concepts (event-driven systems, service communication patterns).
  • Hands-on experience with Message Brokers (e.g., event streaming or pub/sub systems).
  • Proficiency in PHP (7.4+) with solid experience in backend development.
  • Good working knowledge of Laravel framework.
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL (schema design, optimization, indexing).
  • Experience writing and maintaining software tests and producing practical technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Git workflows and collaborative development.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments (CLI tools, debugging, deployment basics).
  • Understanding of software architecture principles, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and applying them effectively.
  • Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
