Virtualization Systems & Services Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Virtualization Systems & Services Specialist to join our IT department. This role focuses on maintaining, updating, and optimizing our virtualization infrastructure and services, including vSphere, VDI, vCloud, NSX, and associated systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization technologies, system administration, and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of system availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance and Updates: Perform regular and critical updates on virtualization platforms such as vSphere, VDI, vCloud, and NSX. This includes quarterly updates for VDI and monthly for other platforms, with immediate attention to critical updates.
  • Health Checks and Monitoring: Conduct monthly Skyline Health Checks, regular system controls, and snapshot reviews to ensure optimal system health. Address any issues identified during checks promptly.
  • Licensing and Reporting: Manage monthly license reporting and ensure compliance with software licensing requirements. This task involves close coordination with the procurement and finance teams.
  • System Configuration and Management: Install and configure new systems according to specific requirements. This includes managing master images for VDI, updating image templates, and ensuring system configurations meet business needs.
  • Infrastructure Support: Assist with firmware updates, hardware maintenance, capacity planning, and power load monitoring. Support includes quarterly checks for server firmware and ongoing monitoring of system performance.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and updates in Netbox. Ensure that system documentation is up-to-date and reflects current configurations.
  • Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement: Provide troubleshooting support for virtualization-related issues. Work towards continuous improvement of system performance and reliability. Implement automation scripts to streamline operations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including notifying key clients of updates and maintaining open lines of communication for feedback and requests.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with other IT teams for cross-functional projects, support infrastructure enhancements, and participate in planning and sizing of new systems based on requests from the sales team.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing and configuring virtualization systems, particularly with VMware products (vSphere, VDI, vCloud, NSX).
  • Strong understanding of system monitoring, virtualization health checks, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with system installation, configuration, and update management.
  • Familiarity with license management and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization.
  • Relevant certifications in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware VCP) are a plus.

  • Location: Tehran
  • Schedule: Full-time position with regular monitoring and updates scheduled monthly, quarterly, and as needed for critical updates.
  • Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Team Backup & Core Infrastructure.
  • Fluent in speaking English
